  • Looks like FCPX has a default ramp between speed changes. Although I can’t tweak them like in AE, they feel pretty solid to me and I sorta appreciate not having to worry. I’ll be more cautious about posting tips in the future.. surprises everywhere.

Well I just got back from a nice chat with a Mac store employee and they are just as in the dark, if not more than all of us. Sounds like in-store training will be starting up next week along with a bunch of other resources (no knowledge of any kind of Apple Certification). He said a few people were actually sent to Cupertino to train for the in-store stuff. Also mentioned the new 16-core MacPro in August but that was sheer conjecture. Very nice and helpful, like they always are, just don’t expect much info that you can’t already find on the web if you go yourself (there weren’t even FCPX setups to play with yet)

  • Seems like the range selector is how you fine tune time remapping.. can’t say I’m much of a fan because it seems like it cuts from one percentage the next without averaging the change.. example: 100% > 50%> 0% (hold) Maybe someone can enlighten me?

I’m confused? Click “retime” in your clip and you’ll see and orange bar appear above it, drag that orange bar out or in and you get all the ranges.

In the title clip on your timeline there are two arrows on the left hand side, click the arrows and select “show video animation,” within that you’ll see all your keyframe elements, you can just keyframe your opacity…super simple…

On a side note.. I was a huge naysayer two days ago, but I’m slowly beginning to enjoy this new release..
