Hi Gene, thanks for your answer… as i supposed, raid_5 don´t work on RU_1144E.

But does a raid0 work, JBOD ?… pcie card it´s port multiplier…

So now in my mind it´s go sell the unit, because it´s raid features at these moment don´t make me any improvement in my workflow, and only for backup purposes i´ll go onto spare hdd´s

I´ll go to a sataIII capable raid RR640L using internal dvd bay for 4 x 2,5″ hdd… HGST Travelstar Z7K500 500GB 7200rpm 7mm for use only with fcpX active library…

(I´m on a mac pro 4,1)

Hi Danny,

all seems to work fine, but i´m surprised with the amount of time spend in compressor task.

Footage and time line are xdcam422hd 25p export as it, in fcp 10,0,7 in .mov container

Apply compressor settings for these seven mov movies, from two minutes to twelve, total movie time one hour. Make m2v and ac3 its fast, apply qmaster to use all proccessor capable… but h264 take about 24 hours… I don´t think these are normal times.

Make with encore from bd autory, takes about 8 hour for a 2 hour movie…

Hi Daniel,

can you tell what compressor settings aply to create a valid h264 stream for use in encore with no new encore transcoding?

It´s perfect the use of 25p footage in a 50i stream too for pal users like me. No loose of any quality.

Hi, in my old school days, some teacher tell us about “audio quality control” on the studio control room… so he insist on we used the best headphones we can… and make signal process to get the best possible sound… If we hear it well… the audience do it too… if they don´t have good speakers or amplifier… doesn´t mind… you are getting them the best possible quality…

So for the video it´s the same… you must work with the best possible monitor and of course if you are working in a hd video editing tool, you must use hd701 profile, IMO… in the same frame size aspect ratio an fps mode from your timeline.

I think it´s the best way to do our job, always in the best quality… after our job was done… we export in the required format for web tv… make a quality conversion… and just it.

Thanks a lot, your answer it´s more helpfull for me. I use too AE sometimes, so if it´s ok i will test it.

Now i´m having issues with my FX4800, PNY and apple support are both currently working on it, i hope in a few days they can provide a solution. I think it´s a problem with cuda and gpu drivers over mountain lion´s osx.

if you please answer me…

does final cut X work without issues in a double graphic card configuration… Does it use the power of both cards, one for gui and the second for computing and render.

So i have too a mac pro 4.1 and a nvida quadro fx4800 and if you are working with the two cards… i also have a GT120… so i connect my 2 monitors to it and leave FX card for render… if it´s a right configuration, and if it works for you i think also works for me…

Final cut pro X it´s continously crashing with references to com.apple.GeForceGLDriver

Cuda driver, gpu driver are both last from nvidia to osx 10,8,2
Fcp version is 10,0,5

Also video output it´s on a blackmagic multibrigde

Some help was aprreciated.
