The advice here https://forums.creativecow.net/readpost/24/1022471 applies if you are in the Expanded Edit Mode which Graham refers to above. That mode was introduced in VPro 12.
If the OP has “Expanded Track Layers”, George’s tip of course works. Btw., that feature was unfortunately dropped from VMSP as of v 14 by Magix. -

“The “download managers” are small (typically approx. 4MB). When run, they will fetch a much larger (e.g. 400-450MB), main installer for the current release.” -

“If a red square bracket appears at the end of one of your video events then you are in Expanded Edit Mode. To exit expanded edit mode, do one of the following:
Choose “Edit” > “Select” > “Exit Expanded Edit Mode”
Press 5 on the numeric keypad
Double-click the event edge
Press Esc on your keyboard“ -
You should see the option to “Edit”, if you “View posts by Thread” and click to open the post.

That’s the same as Ctrl+T (Trim) probably in your KB.
