Is there any script or way to delete everything that isn’t in a region?
Posted by Jay Justice on September 17, 2018 at 3:07 amI wanted to know if there is any script or extension or idea to delete everything that is in your timeline that isn’t within a region?

September 17, 2018 at 8:14 amI’m not aware of a script but the way I’d do is:
– Drag the Loop-Region
– Select all timeline media (Strg+A)
– Press Shift+T -

September 18, 2018 at 12:51 pmAwesome! I see the “Extract Good Clips” button in the timeline tab in excalibur. I will definately be giving that a try. Thank you for the awesome help with Excalibur. Also I did send an email regarding payment for the full version whenever you get a chance. ☺
Thank you everyone!

September 20, 2018 at 6:42 pmIf I’m understanding correctly what you want to do, Vegasaur can do it. I think it costs $100 or so but it’s well worth it if you do a lot of video editing. With the vegasaur extension installed in Vegas, so to the Vegasaur tools –>timeline —> markers. It will allow you to do all sorts of automated things with markers and regions, including trimming away all but sections on the timeline that have been regioned.
Vegasaur also adds a tool to ‘close gaps’ between selected events, so after you use the markers tool to cut away all the non-regioned stuff, you can then select all and click that button and remove all of the empty space between the now-isolated events. Two clicks instead of potentially 30 minutes of work!
This is a good workflow and it’s what I’ve been doing for years.
