I wanted to know if there is any script or extension or idea to delete everything that is in your timeline that isn’t within a region?

    Thanks everyone

I’m not aware of a script but the way I’d do is:

    – Drag the Loop-Region
    – Select all timeline media (Strg+A)
    – Press Shift+T

    Sorry, not Shift+T but Strg+T.

That’s the same as Ctrl+T (Trim) probably in your KB.

Excalibur can take everything that *IS* in a region and then move those to a new track allowing you to then delete the original tracks using the “Extract Good Clips” tool.

Awesome! I see the “Extract Good Clips” button in the timeline tab in excalibur. I will definately be giving that a try. Thank you for the awesome help with Excalibur. Also I did send an email regarding payment for the full version whenever you get a chance. ☺

    Thank you everyone!

So I tried using the extract good clips tool and it only extracts the first clip from the left of the region but no everything else

    Here is a picture

You should see the option to “Edit”, if you “View posts by Thread” and click to open the post.

If I’m understanding correctly what you want to do, Vegasaur can do it. I think it costs $100 or so but it’s well worth it if you do a lot of video editing. With the vegasaur extension installed in Vegas, so to the Vegasaur tools –>timeline —> markers. It will allow you to do all sorts of automated things with markers and regions, including trimming away all but sections on the timeline that have been regioned.

Vegasaur also adds a tool to ‘close gaps’ between selected events, so after you use the markers tool to cut away all the non-regioned stuff, you can then select all and click that button and remove all of the empty space between the now-isolated events. Two clicks instead of potentially 30 minutes of work!

This is a good workflow and it’s what I’ve been doing for years.
