    Hi,

is this Filter one of the standard ones that comes with FCP or is a plug-in added by you.

If this is the case, check te version and compatibility with your current version of FCP

Some outdated filters with weird behavior sometimes work if you set the Motion processing to normal or fast.

Also try to do a test working with local files

Also check the threat “weird renders in FCP” is not the same problem but maybe helps.

no worry Jeremy.. it’s a matter to try and error thing..

I also tougth I found the workaround just cleaning all the renders with the render manager,, but also was just one flower…sprinng was not yet comming.

I know that 10 bits is better but,, no space and raid bandwith to handle this… We’re doing simultaneously 3 1 hour programs with around 6 hours of footage each!

When I came to this project they was working on native HDV.. so capture and post in Prores and final master in 8 but uncompressed it’s still a leap in quality!

    thanks for the apreciaton, anyway!

and once again, sorry for my bad english!

This also happened to us.. when we was exporting to ProRes (current settings)
but if you force a completely new render in Uncompressed or DVCPROHD seems to work.

I have to confirm that the trick with the plug-in to force render is not working…for us.

we will let a project exporting to Uncompressed 8 bit HD..and check.

yes, this is true,, and this is why I said “good TV sets”. Anyway, nowadays most of the Flat LCD/Plasmas are multisystem capable.

Also the DVD player have options.. Dirty cheap “no-brand” models like the 40 EUR Mediamarkt model probably will have no options.. but good ones will have options that will let you play even in the case of a TV set that’s not NTSC capable.

Yes You’re rigth.. almost all DVD players in EU are both NTSC/PAL.

In most of them you can also select to output the signal as is or force to PAL, where the DVD player is doing a kind of NTSC to PAL on-the-fly conversion.

Most of the good TV sets are also multisystem. So in this case it’s better to leave the DVD player as is. So your disc will play as NTSC and the TV/display will swicth to NTSC and the quality will be much better as being converted to PAL by the DVD player.

I have did over 100 DVD titles only on NTSC commercially distributed worldwide.

Personally at home I have this setup Marantz DVD player and a Toshiba Retroprojector.. I can watch indistintly the USA and EU DVDs, both with good quality.

    Hope this helps.

Ah! I’m in the EU… at the Independent Republic of PAL system.
