I hear that, and you can get pretty fine frame by frame with the arrows, but when would your clip need to be a specific length before you put it in the timeline (hence needing slide rather than just i/o) ? Just curious…

I don’t know about in the event browser and can’t think of when you would need that (but I am a hack and no doubt it’s something you do ALL the time for good reason) but if you drop it into the timeline and select the trim tool, you can slide by grabbing the top edge of the clip (the tool becomes something which looks like this (<-I->) with the traditional film strip/slide icon underneath). You likely knew that already, but it is so sad to see your question sit unacknowledged. Happy cutting.

I had the same issue. Lost more work than I care to admit. Since then I’ve been shutting down FCP X when I would normally be saving. Cumbersome and annoying. Why can’t I be allowed to save my projects? I like autosave as a safety net but what’s the problem if I want to manage my own save points? Going to search for the update now.

Thanks Everest, I have installed QT7 and the new codecs bundle released yesterday from Apple… Mpeg2 not among them sadly, apparently it’s a licensing issue with Sorenson?

I still believe it’s lurking somewhere on my machine already. Anyone know for sure? Heading to the app store soon looks like…
