I also just experienced this. Working with a thunderbolt raid. I also had a second user accessing the raid through thunderbolt sharing.
Any ideas on how to prevent this from happening in the future?

Under effects, ‘Video Filters’, then ‘Video’ and then viewfinder

It’s over the video. I’ve attached a screenshot to this post. This particular one happens over a credit roll.

That looks just like what I’m looking for. I assume after connecting it correctly I’d be able to set FCP to capture the video with the T/C from this device?

Thanks it was set to the wrong format.

Thanks for the suggestions but unfortunately they haven’t helped. I’m pretty confident it’s related to this project. I opened an SD project and had no issues. I think the cause of this problem is one of my settings since I’m working on an HD project being played back to an SD monitor over composite.
Thanks again

Thanks Bob!
That’s exactly what I wanted to hear. We’re going to test it out at an event this week. I picked up an internal 1.5TB drive to use for now since it doesn’t look like a RAID is in the budget for this month. -
So since this camera can embed TC in the SDI, if I was switching live with a switcher such as the HS400A, I’d be able to push TC to all of my cameras?
Thanks again.

The two main things that we do are sort of at opposite ends of the spectrum. We do a lot of documentary style, promotional and yearbook videos, primarily for summer camps, with a few hundred hours of footage at the end of the summer. This is primarily SD still, and is why I feel that for the next year or two the mini DV capabilities are important. We also only usually capture the best footage which is why I’m hesitant to do solid state only. We also do live shoots of concerts and switch live, as well as record in HD. T/C makes editing and syncing to our recorded multitrack audio much easier since we usually run a T/C sync. The HVX is the ideal price but I’m open to options and have some flexibility.
I am able to survive without the T/C although would prefer it since it saves lots of time in post.
Thanks again,

So it seems to have been a bit of a fluke because it happened once yesterday where I had to render everything after one small change and again today but now after a restart it seems to be fine. All of my settings seem to be correct, I will double check though.
Thanks for the help
