I have over 300 gigs available on a sata drive. My avid software is on the C: and my video goes to D: all my project files and settings are saved to E: which is also Sata. My workstation has dual 3.6, 2 gigs ram, and 7200 rpm sata drives. This system should be able to handle HD, but can’t even handle DV25?? doesn’t make any sense to me.

It was actually shot on a small sony dv…my family asked me to edit out a few things and put it on dvd. I changed the audio sample rate of the project to 32k, which allows it to capture (before i was getting an audio error) but it still will only capture fora few minutes with dv25 before giving me the “video overrun” error. It starts to capture, than the audio levels (the meter, not the actual levels on the tape) freeze up, the hard drives sound like they are spinning up, and then the video overrun. Any ideas? Thanks.

The color was very saturated, and over exposed. Play with the brightest areas. Also, i seem to remember it had a bit of a green/blue tint. Unfortunetly for us, all those color effects were shot like that, not added later.

Avid is def. the way to go. I have used avid, premiere, final cut, etc. Best bang for your buck is def. avid. Avid’s greatest achievement? Making software that acutally works the way it says it should. Premiere is not nearly as adavanced as Avid. Check out avids website for some easy tutorials on using the software. Any questions about differences, hit me back. Hope this helps.

No firewire deck. The only thing I have is a DVX100…and leaving it on for firewire output seems like overkill. How about just the video? Is there something that will convert the firewire to RCA? thanks alot.
