Cannot be done without creating a separate menu for each button, then using the auto-activate command when navigating. Since each button will be a new menu, the music will start over as well as any motion you have in the background. Also, software dvd players will not auto-activate the buttons when you mouse over them, so that causes problems.
I would advise against doing it.

I’m very happy with Adobe Encore. It does have it’s bugs here and there, but I have posted a solution to get around all the ones I’ve ever encountered:

Since you are starting with HD footage and will be downscaling to SD DVD, I highly recommend you read my article on achieving the highest quality downconversion and encode:

Since you have used Avid to edit your footage, you can jump into the workflow after the export out of Premiere.

When setting the link, go to “Specify Link”, then set your link to the appropriate menu, and check off “Set to Loop Point” at the bottom.

Hmm, sounds like an audio driver issue. Encore doesn’t seem to like communicating with your audio drivers. It could be a number of things causing it: reinstalling Encore might fix it, updating your sound card drivers might fix it, shutting down a process that could be interfering with encore might fix it…
If you’ve done all those things, then I wouldn’t know what else to suggest.

Are you able to test it on a DVD-RW or build an image and test using a software dvd player?

To enable Maximum Render Quality, in your Premiere project, right click on the sequence in the project panel, then go to properties. Towards the bottom of the properties, you will see a check box to enable maximum render quality. I highly recommend you read my article on achieving the best quality downconversion, complete with sample images and all:

Hmm, nothing jumps out as being abnormal except for the fact you are using PCM audio. Try using ac3 and see if that makes any difference. If that doesn’t work, I would try h264 encoding for the video. It will take much longer to encode, but look much better. You don’t have to change the authoring mode, just change the transcode settings for the asset.

Are you having Encore transcode the main video, or did you already transcode it. What type of file did you import into encore and what settings were used to compress it? What about the audio? What format are you using and how many audio tracks do you have?
