December 28, 2010 at 9:50 pm in reply to: Encore Timelines Chapter Playlist & Blue Ray blurayEncore does not support chapter playlists for Blu-ray.
To achieve what you want, here is what you can do:
1) create a separate video for each segment (chapter)
2) import into Encore and place each video on a separate timeline (end action of each timeline should be set to return to the previous menu)
3) Link each chapter index button to it’s corresponding timeline
4) Create a regular Playlist (not a chapter playlist) and drag each timeline into the playlist in the order you want them to play
5) Link the playlist to a play all button on the menu.

December 28, 2010 at 9:44 pm in reply to: Does the loop pause occur when played on a computer?I’m actually working on modifying Encore Blu-ray images using BDEdit to create a seamless flow during the loop point and for transitions. It is very possible to do (without any pauses on any players), using the connection condition value of 5 for a playlist item, and the programmers of Encore could have easily done it. Unfortunately it could take many versions of Encore before it is implemented (if ever).
Once I figure out a fool proof way of doing it, I will create a tutorial.

This is an issue with the preview only, and should not happen on the final build.

If you can import the old m2v files from those other projects into a new project without issues, but you cannot import the new m2v files, then there is likely something wrong with the way you encoded the new m2v files.
Also, if your wav files have more than 2 channels, or if they were created in Sony Vegas, they may not import into Encore.

Also, your bitrate is a little on the high side. I would drop it down to 7 mbps CBR. There will be no visual difference compared to your 8 mbps, and it will be easier for a dvd player to read the data at that rate.

What brand media are you using, and what speed are you burning at?

This can make a difference. The best is Taiyo Yuden (now owned by JVC), followed closely by Verbatim. Those Sony discs from Costco are also decent. Don’t burn faster than 6x.

This is a common scenario, but unfortunately the leading NLE providers are using very poor quality downscaling algorithms.

October 19, 2010 at 4:35 pm in reply to: BluRay horizontal stuttering in Encore but not ToastWhat creates stutter is improper framerate or field order settings.
Here are some important questions:
1) What format is your source footage (resolution, framerate, and interlaced or progressive)?
2) What format did you create the quicktime file in?
3) What format did you encode the Blu-ray into?
Also, Encore could be incorrectly interpreting your footage. So you may need to right click on the asset, go to interpret footage, and confirm that everything is what it should be.
