You want to be very careful not to do anything else while a file is Conforming in the Media Browser. This is especially true with formats like Sony FS700 which limits files sizes to 4GB before spanning to another clip.
You run the risk of ending up with glitches, corrupted files and the like. You could import more than one file into the Media Browser and let them conform…Good luck.

You could get an I7 Processor with 3+Ghz.
Upgrade RAM to 24-32GB if not 48GB
256 or 500GB SSD for OS, Apps, etc.
7200RPM 1TB HDD for media and project files
5400 or 7200RPM HDD for backup of media/project files that you can keep in another location if possible for best safety.
Your graphics card (GPU) should be CUDA compatible to take advantage of the Mercury Playback Engine.Best regards,

Did you use Plural Eyes 3.5 for your picture to sound sync at the beginning of Post Production? PE allows you to correct for sync drift over the course of a long clip sequence.
Are you editing in Multi-Camera mode?

Remember that 2K, 4K, 5K projects are huge source files to begin with, so you need as much processor, RAM and GPU help you can get from the beginning.
Check your Preferences and increase the amount of RAM allocated to Premiere Pro.
Do you have a GPU card that works with the Mercury Playback Engine in Premiere Pro?
Increase your computer’s RAM to something like 24 or 32 GB.
What sort of Data Management are you using, (i.e. SSD, HDDs RAID – what type?) Do you have a dedicated Scratch Disk for your Media/Project/Sequences separate from your OS/Applications disk?

ALEXA Mini 4K Workflow with Premiere Pro CC/CS6/CS5/CS4 – May 29 2015
“New to ALEXA Mini and plan to transfer ALEXA Mini 4K recordings into Premiere for editing. But the result is not so well. Premiere refused to accept these videos. Does Premiere support 4K videos?”
The ALEXA Mini can record in several codecs including ProRes 4444XQ, 4444, 422 (HQ), 422, 422(LT).While all those codecs are not accepted by Premiere natively. If you intend to work with ALEXA Mini recordings in Premiere, you may need to find an ideal tool to convert ALEXA Mini 4K footage to MPEG-2 for a fast and fluid workflow.
Brorsoft Video Converter for Mac is the best solution I have found. It is a professional 4K video convert for Premiere that can transcode a format work well with high quality preserved. Moreover, it offers some native codecs for other NLEs including AIC for iMovie, Apple ProRes for FCP, DNxHD for Avid and more. If you are a PC user and eager to open ALEXA Mini 4K ProRes in Premiere, pls turn to Brorsoft Video Converter Windows version. Now, download the software on computer and follow the guide below to start conversion.
Good luck,
