I have an app you can use – It’s called “Free Light” and it’s a free app that basically turns your iphone into a flashlight. You can choose from a variety of colors and green is one of them. You can shoot it, then put whatever you want there in post. Cheers.

Requires 24 with remote cable controls. An effect like this isn’t for the faint of heart, but the strongly determined. Maybe you can get a bulk deal on the cameras? 😉 Anyhow, cost is reportedly between $5-8k. We just finished a huge event last night using GRL’s LED Throwie plans (and a ton of tape, batteries, LEDs, and magnets).

Phil, thanks for chiming in, that was the part I wasn’t totally sure about.

There are hundreds of unused c-mount lenses out there. If you can get a really small focal length, you can probably get some really interesting results. Maybe a 16mm sized tilt-shift?

Also, the T2i will let you do a 640×480 crop sensor (don’t remember on the 7D) which could give you some more interesting results. Use a tripod. 😉

Well, according to the link you sent, it says: “Infinity Focus: No; Limited Focus Range, Macro Only.” This means you’ll only be able to use close-focusing with limited depth of field. You would need optics in an adapter to make a C-Mount lens work with a DSLR camera.

Part of the problem is that a 16mm film frame is considerably smaller than the APS-C sensor. In order to get a good focal length, you have to put the lens farther away which also increases the focal length (making everything magnified). What is the converter you used? Can you send a link?

Sine you’re posting in DSLR, I’m guessing you’re using a DSLR for this. I’ll be the first to suggest another camera like a small GoPro Hero or something. If if has to be a DSLR, I suggest you use a wide angle lens (as wide as you can get), and mount it to the handle bar. Beyond using a steadicam, a bumpy road will just be an exercise in frustration for most stabilizers.

I’m big on DIY stuff, so I recommend building something inexpensive to test with and determine your exact needs. In other words, make one first, then buy one if you really need to. I’ve made so many rigs for my cameras, I can’t even count them. Check out:
