Posted by Rusty Shackleford on March 31, 2011 at 3:06 pmAnyone have any recommendations for sliding dollies for DSLRs?
We need a smooth dolly that can easily get a consistent speed.

March 31, 2011 at 6:51 pmI have the Glide Track as well. I purchased it before the Pocket Dolly was available. It’s doing the job, but the pocket dolly sure looks smooth, especially the model with the crank handle and belt drive system.

April 1, 2011 at 5:29 pmIf you’re willing to spend some time building, you can make one for less than $100.
I made this table dolly for about $25 (I bought new bearings) and it works great with my DSLR:

and here is an actual rail slider:

April 2, 2011 at 1:40 pmWe use a Kessler jib and like it.
I’ve heard the glide track sticks sometimes.
We’ll prob spend the extra cash on the Philip Bloom Kessler Slider. The add on remote option is nice if we need it later.Brandon Morris

April 4, 2011 at 8:15 pmThe old version of the Glidetrack can stick, but they have a new Hybrid Version with rollers that looks promising.
https://www.glidetrack.comB&H also sells this slider
I ran across this very inexpensive slider called the Konovo Slider. Here’s a blog about it. Under $500.
