It’s a 1-to-1 deal in photoshop with the clone tool. You’d have to do you changes to the big pic, then select and paste to the smaller one and then scale if I’m reading you correctly. If not, please send a specific set of steps and/or samples.

Maybe try removing the old plugin, restart Photoshop, confirm its not there, quit photoshop, re-download the plugin (from the set of optional plugins) and try dropping the SGIRGB one in the plugins folder again. Could be an OS thing – 10.8 vs. 10.6? Dunno if you want to go updating to Mt. Lion tho. Could be it’s conflicting with your other SGI plugin?

Photoshop has had SGI support for a really long time so its a little odd that it wouldn’t work all of a sudden now. I’m sure it’s a simple fix.

I just installed the extra web plugins from Adobe into Photoshop CS6 Ext on Mac OS X 10.8.3. It allows me to save as “SGI RGB” now. If yours doesn’t, I’m not sure what to say, but I dropped mine in the plugins folder in the PS CS6 folder in Applications and it appears to be working. I don’t use SGI files so I’m not an expert.

Sweet! Glad to see it helped. I’m going to have a look at both the JS and AS versions. Getting CS6 this week. I think I actually like the download subscription thing – a little surprising they went this route, but with everything else going to downloads, its not that big a surprise.

There are several ways to do it:
1) save as a JPEG in Illustrator, but you’ll need to do all of your size conversions in Illustrator first and convert to RGB if its CMYK.
Photoshop has really decent imaging capabilities so:
1) Create a 150×150 image in PS with a plain white BG (saving as a JPEG will turn transparency to white), then place (File > Place) the EPS file on it. Note: EPS files don’t always import well into PS so you may want to first load into Ill. and save as an AI file with PDF on.
2) File > Open in PS – you can specify sizes, pixel dimensions, etc before opening. You can go larger, then crop, adjust and finally shrink to final size in PS (use bicubic sharper to keep overall quality or nearest neighbor for edge quality).
Barring any of these, what is the actual problem you are seeing? Can you post the image/file? Also, 150×150 is a very small amount of info and there is only so much quality you can maintain. Specifically what is happening or not happening (so we can duplicate it)?

Well, I’d love it if there was just one way to do it, but there really isn’t. I set my gear where I set it cuz that’s where I like it and I make adjustments on the fly for every situation. You have to adjust to a balance between what you hear, the equipment you are using and how you like to edit your audio in post. Everyone is different so you just gotta experiment and then when people ask you the same question, you can answer back with this is how I do it…
I guess I’m saying you need to wing it – or hear well enough to get the recording you want, eliminate the stuff you don’t want, and be able to make due when it doesn’t work out the way you want.
Try posting to the audio boards or the board for your audio gear, too. The DSLR boards are more about the cameras and you might have better luck on a more audiophile-oriented board. Be wary of anyone who tells you there is only 1 way to do anything. Good luck!

My thinking is that unless you are in a studio where you only need to make minor adjustments, you will usually need to get the gear running, do several sound checks and make lots of adjustments so your sound engineer (yeah, that’s usually you again) can use the audio. Sounds like you have everything you need to make the right audio work fine (your setup isn’t much different than mine).
What are the specific issues you are actually having? That will make it easier to answer the question.

I’ve been picking up used T2is and installing Magic Lantern on them. They take a regular 1/8″ jack. I’ve also seen XLR-to-1/8″ converters if your mic needs XLR. I have 3 T2is now and they work great.

I’m guessing its your file? If it’s someone else’s file, they saved, but didn’t include the font files – have the client resave and send from illustrator with font files included OR convert to outlines and then resend. If it’s yours, either you forgot to save with fonts included or the font file was bad and couldn’t get imported (that happens with internet fonts). You may be able to get it all back if its giving you the option to locate the font file. Can also happen when you use a mac font on pc and vice versa. Also, if you imported the text, it may not read because it may have a link to the original text file which may not be available.
Fix (giant maybe?): try putting the AI, font, and/or text files all together in one folder (use copies not originals) and try again. If you have photoshop or other raster image files in there, try that. In the future, remember to check the font box and PDF boxes when saving as an illustrator file. I remember in the past, these could be unrecoverable, but sometimes the fix takes.
