I completely agree, I spent years working on Avid Liquid (back in the day when it was FAST 601!!) and I still miss the interface. Of course I couldn’t do 1/10th of what I do now with FCP. Surely it’s a simple thing to provide users with a few colour options???

Wow what a thread I’ve started!!! Would I turn down sex if I knew it was 99.8% safe?
Are the advantages of 5.1.2 orgasmic (using motion filters directly and the new scopes sound nice but not quite orgasmic)….

Thanks for the advice. I wonder could you give me a bit more detail. I’m asking this question as I’m advising
a student on her purchase and I know money is tight. I’ve seen benchmarks on a couple of web sites that show the macbook to be marginally slower in most areas and (believe it or not!) a bit faster in some. 6 seconds extra on colour correcting a 1 min clip isn’t going to really matter to her.

Is there anything she can’t do or that’s so painully slow to be unfeasible? I know the smaller screen will be a nusiance but she plans to plug into a larger screen at home.

    Thanks again for your help.

Not the topic but I’m considering buying a macbook (not pro) for Final Cut Studio. I know Apple says it’s not so hot but there’s an increasing number of reviews/benchmarks on the web showing it works quite well. Am I mad??

Thanks for your very helpful reply. I’m researching both for myself and a friend who’s a student and even more strapped for cash than myself so we may well be advised to wait a little while.

Could you expand on how to do this, sounds risky?? or is it a joke?
