    oh yes. I thank you for pointing that out and I apologize for not being clearer earlier. I won’t be using any stock smoke effects. The issue i’m having is how close we are to the gun. You can see down the barrel a bit. I feel like if it was a mid shot or more angled, that putting the starting point at the muzzle tip would suffice. However I feel like one would be able to see the smoke coming UP out of the barrel.

    I can’t figure out how to modify the Particular effect to come up out of the cylinder and then curl upwards at the muzzle tip.

    Does that make any sense?

    this is a relative angle of the gun. it has an angle where you can see down the barrel. If the gun is smoking, wouldn’t the smoke be traveling to the end of the barrel and then upon leaving start going upwards?

    *But I see your option in the Source Browser is set to IMPORT. Yes, for that setting, you need to select the clips. Flip it to LINK*

    The source browser settings only has two settings. 1) LINK OR IMPORT and 2) LOAD CLIPS INTO SOURCE MONITOR. there is no 1) LINK and 2) IMPORT option.

    *OK, with the QT files you rendered out of Resolve*
    */*
    *and you should be able to choose the root level folder of the tapeless unorganized backup (thank god they had that) and then hit LINK…that should bring them all in, linked…then you transcode.*

    So IM confused.

    1) which video files am i bringing into MC,

    A) XDROOT -> CLIP that due to you saying THANK GOD THEY HAD THAT (I’m assuming that’s the file I needed all along, the one that is directly out of the camera and won’t cause me any issues to use) Select all those clips with the setting of LINK OR IMPORT then click IMPORT in the bottom right? again, there’s no discernible way that i can see to make that “IMPORT” button say “LINK”

    OR

    B) The QT PRORESHQ versions of XDROOT -> CLIP, Select the video files and click IMPORT into it’s own bin.

    the options are “link or import” and “load clips into source monitor”

    also, the camera used “Sony FS5 and filmed in 4k S-log3 Raw Format

    The director says that the cinematographer just dragged and dropped it over into the external.
