    Thanks Dave.

I have the DVX so that is the camera that I want to maximize it’s usage. The camera makes great images. =) for me at least.

A question I have is, if I already have footage shot at 24p advanced, is there any trick to make the slow motion smoother than I am getting with the native slo-mo effects in Premiere?

    Thank You,
    jj

Thanks Steve and Dave for having patience and taking time to help a newbie like me out.

I learned ALOT from this thread and now got it worked out lovely. I’ll be editing tonight and tomorrow.

Is it bad etiquette to post a link to the video here when it’s done? I thought it would be appropriate because I never would have been able to do it without your help.

    You guys are co-producers.
    Thanks buddies,

Thank You Steve for being considerate and patient.

When you say TV, does that mean RCA inputs, or older TV? Because I look at the video through the HDMI on my TV and it still looks stretched.

    I am sorry.
DVX didn’t respond so I posted here.
    Thanks for the help.

I am using square pixel on export in After Effects. When I bring that square pixel video (1.0) into the original DV project (0.9) in premiere pro will it be fully compatible?

    Thanks again!

Can a non-square 0.91 and a square 1.0 video be in the same composition timeline?

According to After effects The video has specs of:
    720×480 (0.91) separating (lower)
    23.976 fps 3:2 removal (https://WWWSW) – 24p Advance

What is the best timeline/composition to edit in?
    I am currently using a DV Timeline 720 x 480 – 3:2

The 24P advanced video is at 0.91 but it seems like I have to use a square pixel aspect ration on the timeline for the video to look right. Is this correct?

Also, should I have the timeline at 23.976 or 29.97?
    Pros and cons of either?

The output video seems to have interlace lines as well.

I tried a lot of different settings, read the dvx100 book by barry, and also read my manual for after effects, but still am a bit lost.
    Please advise.

Thank You DVXuser community. You rock!

Why does the original video with an aspect ratio of 0.91 look fine, but when I export, it HAS to be 1.0 square pixel to look right on my computer monitor and HDMI TV?

    Thank you for the help.

    Hello,

I am working in Adobe After Effects CS5.
    I have a video file recorded in a DVX100B:

according to after effects the video has specs of:
    720×480 (0.91) separating (lower)
    23.976 fps 3:2 removal (https://WWWSW) – 24p Advance

What is the best timeline/composition to edit in?
    I am currently using a DV Timeline 720 x 480 – 3:2

Why do I have to use a square pixel aspect ratio on the timeline for the video to look right on export. Why can’t I use a DV aspect ratio?

    Thanks
