November 2, 2009 at 5:36 pm in reply to: Encore CS4 Blu-Ray and Real 1080p 30ish frame ratesOK…results of 30 to 24 conversion are far worse than I imagined…
Choppy movement and the impression of dropped frames through the whole Blu Ray disk.
Somebody out there knows how to render 1080p 30’s to Blu Ray in Encore…speak up! -

Someone stop the madness!!!BD-RE on XP won’t erase or format, but will play if written to a blank BD-RE.
BD-RE on OSX won’t play, but will erase and write to the BD-RE. -

November 19, 2008 at 12:45 am in reply to: CS3 Encore won’t erase my BD-RE (wrote to it just fine) just spits it out.Tried both nero and DVD-info (both can erase or reformat) to no avail.
I hate to admit it, but I just moved the drive to my mac, rebuilt my project on CS3 Encore for mac (as everyone knows that Encore is not cross platform like Premier, Photoshop, Illustrator, AE….etc…BOO! adobe) and it seems to be writing it fine (all be it super slow) 1 hour est time left on a 13 minute project burning at 2X. (does that seem logical?)
PS I still need it to work on XP

July 13, 2008 at 7:57 pm in reply to: Copy and Pasting clips on the timeline (seems so simple doesn’t it?)Thanks, the “match frame” method seems to work best. Using the in/out on the timeline method still copies the whole clip and not just the part of the clip from the “in” to the “out”. (at least for me it does). but… thank you all for your help.

Smurfed? what an appropriate word that could possibly subconsciously eludes to BSOD (goofy and blue) but only for one application.
Anyway…
Rebuilt entire thing from scratch and burned new one. Appears to loop correctly now. But how can such a time honored, industry standard, loved by everyone, blah blah blah program choke on such a simple request? And there appears to be no documentation on “NOT” setting overrides when using motion menus. Is this not happening to everyone? (been using overrides on non motion menu projects for years.) Just now getting brave to use some of the more advanced menuing feature sets in Encore.
thanks for your help, Jeff

My one menu is first play, My one play button is linked to the timeline. The timeline end action is to “Menu default” Both overrides (menu and timeline) are now permanently stuck on “Menu default” per previous post.
Thanks

I have now tried to set all menu overrides to “not set” per previous threads. In any and all cases when I try to change that particular setting on either the menu or the timeline properties, Encore will CRASH to Desktop.
Please note that this is a very simple menu. One timeline, no chapters, one menu, one button (Play), I just want a looping motion background. How hard is that???

Lets say just for conversation that someone invested mega bucks on a Macbook pro just to dump the cards upon. Using the only available software to do so quickly and efficiently (XDcam transfer)puts it on the drive as a .mov file which still cannot be imported into Premier. What am I missing here?
Thanks.

April 12, 2008 at 2:44 pm in reply to: Any sign of 32 or even 64 gig cards for ex yet ?Well, After two months on backorder, company canceled order with no explanation. (I think they were hiding real reason)
Let’s all do our part to keep the price gouging and the self dictated monopoly on EX1 compatible cards going strong.(Sony and Sandisk, in case they don’t know who I am addressing).

February 20, 2008 at 11:41 pm in reply to: Any sign of 32 or even 64 gig cards for ex yet ?Ok for what it is worth, try a search for this part number from Sandisk SDX-VS-016G-A101 or SDXVS016GA101. I have two on order and will see if they will work. ( I’ll pay the restock fee if they are not ) Rumor mill (not sure where I saw it several weeks ago) says they might be the SxS “clone” from sandisk. They do not reference the PMW-EX1, nor has anyone tried one yet. Worth the risk though.
Currently on eternal backorder but the place I bought from has them listed as one of their top sellers even though they’ve never had them in stock. (popular based on number of backorders I presume)
Oh will the fun of searching for that all elusive EX1 memory alternative never cease!!!
