If your files are organized in your Premiere Pro Project, you can simply highlight all the files that would be in one BPAV folder and then select your “link media”. Once you select the first clip it will automatically link all the other highlighted clips contained in the BPAV.
Not sure about the thumbnail previews in Bridge. When working with EX footage I simply import the BPAV folder. PP finds the mp4’s it can work with (it says doesn’t understand the other files, which is fine) and then I edit natively. I don’t know if this is the “proper” way to do things, but I haven’t came across an issue in the 3 years I have been editing EX footage on PP. -
You are totally right. My “work-around” strategy up to this point has been to beg/borrow/steal good equipment from others. I am just trying to find the right mix of gear to give me the best quality for my small budget. Thanks for replying.

More info please. How are you “sharing-exporting” ? What program are you using? That will help us answer your question.
My first thought after reading your post was to wonder exactly what you are doing. You are taking H.264 mov files from a 5D and then exporting them as H.264 mov files. I don’t know if I understand the purpose of this. Are you combining all of the files into one file? If so, why?

Thanks Steve. You are right about the need for sound. I do have a basic sound setup with a Zoom H4N and headphones. Some lavs are a good idea and something i should think about.

You are right that your encoding settings are probably not the issue. You are now in the land of web programming, and that land is full of mine fields for us video guys.

How are you trying to play the file through the web? Are you linking directly to the mp4 file in Safari or is the mp4 file in the structure of an html page?

Can an iPod loop the video? I am finding out that a simple looping function is lacking on the iPad and iPad2. There is a workaround to make videos loop on the iPad but it is not a simple process.

Although, iPod only outputs 720p. I normally don’t worry too much about the difference between 720 and 1080 on our monitors, but when we are going all the way up to 70″ I think I want 1080p.We are about issue iPad 2 to most of our sales staff. That may be a better option since iPad 2 will output 1080p.

No. That is not possible.
You have to choose one frame rate for your project, much like you have to choose one aspect ratio for your entire project. You can achieve different effects by shooting different fps if you want but it all has to exist in a constant fps finished project.
Think of it this way: if you wanted a scene to look like an old home movie, you could shoot it a VHS camcorder. But you would have to put that VHS footage into your project using your project settings. You couldn’t deliver your project half in 1080 24p mov file and half on a VHS cassette.
Same principle at work with what you are talking about.
