you make a path around the person with pen tool.
then you take a brush with hard edges, and alt + click on third icon from left in paths palette. -
which lighting filter? which menu in ps?

did you tried to rendering it in small resolutions to check up if same problem appear?.
if ram preview is ok, it’s probably codec problem.
