I have a pretty beefy machine however, as soon as I start to add extra video tracks and add Lumatri effects then the timeline starts to get very sticky. So sticky in fact that it’s a real issue, unusable in fact. It’s at this point I needed to start and find a solution. I could have gone the proxy route and transcoded all of my files to 1080p but that’s no good as I need the extra resolution that 4K gives me for re-framing etc. You may as well shoot in 1080p in the first place in my view. I know it’s 200MBS vs 50MBS but seriously I know that not many people if any can tell the difference between the two. And the 1080p 25fps is pretty good so why not. However I shoot C4K 24fps 24KHZ and like to use the 4K for re-framing and slider shots etc etc. So I realized that when you use the “Render and Replace” option on the timeline that Premiere automatically uses the new Cineform codec. So what I did was go into the export settings and made up a user pre-set with the Cineform codec. Then I set up a watch folder. This enables me to drop my files straight from the card into the watch folder wich immediately starts to encode them into Cineform. Everything else is left the same in regard to frame rate size and aspect ect. Now when I bring my files into Premiere they scrub like butter and I still have the re-framing I require.

October 20, 2012 at 9:18 am in reply to: Cinema 4d exchange plugin and AE CS6

Hi, I have the cs5.5 plugun and the new AE export to c4d plugin and niether work. I even re-downloaded them and re-installed them and they still do not work. Also windows doesn’t see them as plugins. When i go to there properties and try to assign AE CS6 as there application win 7 refuses to allow me to do that and instead assigns acrobat reader whether i like it or not. I previously had my old version of CS5 running along side CS6 but just uninstalled as when I was exporting to AE it was exporting to CS5. I thought if i uninstalled cs5 it would automatically defalt to CS6 but nothing that easy.

    Any ideas would be welcome.

That is not the answer. It’s drawing the background colour. What ever is selected for a background colour is being painted onto the canvas. It has nothing to do with other layers.

OK how is this for ironic, I’ve been trawling the web for days now looking for the answer and eventually had to admit defeat and post hear for an answer. Then literally minutes later I’ve cracked it myself.

I changed the audio hardware ASIO setting from that of my soundcard to the premiere ASIO, I then bumped up the buffer as far as it would go and it solved the problem. The audio is now perfectly in sync and all issues resolved. whooop!!

    Hi Adam,

Could you help me with a problem I have rendering text. When I render extruded text the render engine only renders the extrude node. the front and back face of the text aren’t included in the render

any ideas as to why that might be happening?

    John
