This always happens with new burners. Software has to catch up to the hardware. DVD Architect doesn’t burn Blu-ray straight off the filesystem anyway. It creates a disc image ISO file. Just burn the ISO file with the burning software that cam with your burner.

I don’t think sending the project will make a difference because you said that old projects that were fine on XP look bad too. That means your new project will probably look fine on our PC’s. If the text looks fine when previewed at full quality on the timeline it’s probably not the fonts either.
This points to the render as the only opportunity for a change. Try rendering to several different codecs across AVI, MPG, MOV and maybe even MP4. See if maybe some other software has caused a codec to be swapped. I know that I had horrible problems with having Nero Burning software on my PC. It inserted itself into my AVI stream and made all of my DV AVI renders from Vegas incompatible with Boris RED. I uninstalled Nero and everything worked again!
So what other video/DVD/multi-media software is on this new PC?

Graham is answering to the fact that you said “several” and so he is thinking scripts, but are you asking how to create a fade when there is no other clip? Let me answer that question just in case.
To create a fade in a clip that is not overlapped, first hover your mouse over the top edge of the event that you want to fade like this:
Then drag the cursor toward the middle of the event like this:

Exactly. The reason is so that you don’t render the audio twice. MPEG2 audio is not part of the NTSC DVD spec. So you are taking your audio, encoding it to MPEG2 audio and then DVD Architect is encoding it again to AC3. You will get higher quality audio if you just do the AC3 encode once in Vegas. If you make the names the same and just the extensions are different (mpg/ac3) DVD Architect will automatically pull in the AC3 when you drop the MPG file on it.

That might be the problem right there. Sony tunes Vegas to work with standard HDV and AVCHD formats. You really should use a camera that shoots a standard format instead of the non-standard mpeg4 that the Sanyo Xacti HD camera shoots. You might want to convert the footage into an intermediary format that edits easier like CineForm.

You author a Blu-ray disc the same way you author a DVD disc in DVD Architect 5.0. Just change your project settings to Blur-ray. In Vegas, render to either one of the Blu-ray templates as MPEG2 or one of the Blu-ray template as AVCHD depending on what your source HD media is. That’s all there is to it.

Vegas will only save markers not regions and with MPG files they don’t get saved in the file; they are in a file with the same name and a .sfl extension. If you move the MPG file and don’t move the SFL file you will lose the markers.

Yes, because Platinum Pro Pak *is* Platinum. The “Pro Pak” is a collection of extra programs that ship with it but it’s still Movie Studio Platinum in the box along with the bundled software.
