It looks to me like this can be accomplished with 3 layers. The bottom track should have your static video playing. The middle track should have your artwork (which is very nicely drawn btw) saved as an PNG file with Transparency! Once you drop that into Vegas Pro you may have to right-click and set the Alpha Channel to straight. This will allow the transparent parts of your drawing to show the video beneath. Then the top track is your text.

When I did that I was using CineForm AVI files which are digital intermediaries that are designed for multiple renders without loosing quality. You could also use Sony MXF or just render back to the original format of the source file. One extra render is not going to show any visible artifacts as long as you keep the bit rate up.

I don’t see why you wold have any problems. As long as both computers have the same 3rd party plug-ins everything should work fine. Vegas Pro 13 supports both Windows 10 and Windows 7 and there aren’t may differences between the operating systems except the UI.

It stops at the Radeon HD 6xxx series because the programmers actually check for specific cards and disable GPU support if you card is not in the list. My Radeon HD 5870 works but my Radeon HD 7950 does not!

Oh yea! NeatVideo is a render hog. Forgot about that. This always slows down a render significantly. I use to use it up front. In other words, I would use it to clean up my video and then render that out and then use the cleaned up videos in my project. This way I don’t pay every time I render the final project.

What *exactly* does that mean? This could be the problem. What render template are you using and what did you change?
Try rendering with a built-in 1920×1080 template and don’t change anything. Does that work?

If you know Vegas Pro and, as Mike said, have Vegas Pro 8 or greater… that is the most inexpensive and the path of least resistance since you will be able to help your Dad a lot with it. Multi-cam in Vegas Pro is very easy to do.

What are your project properties?
What are your render properties?
If your rendered output does not align with what you are seeing in the preview, I’m gonna guess that your render properties do not match your project properties. Especially if they are using different aspect ratios.
The other thing to check is to turn your preview window to Best (Full) and check if things still look the same. This is the setting that will be used when rendering.
