Is the “image” that plays on the computer DVD player have the .img extension and do you use it to burn the DVD from Nero (instead of Encore) after you change the .img to .iso?

If that’s the case, I used to do the same thing, but one time Nero balked and gave me a bad copy, so I changed to having Encore burn DVD folders with the VIDEO_TS and having Nero burn those. You might try that.

On the other hand if you are already burning the Folders, then, I don’t have any other ideas (I am sure other folks will, though).

Is the “image” that plays in the software player have the extension .img that you changed to .iso or is the image a DVD folder? Also, are you going to burn this in Nero or some other program (I assume not Encore).

I had a problem (eratic behavior, not your identical problem) about a year ago, when I was using the “images” to burn on Nero and when I went to the folder, it worked ok after.

    Mike,
What kind of screen capature are we talking about here? Just a simple software demonstration like Encore?

I’m sure you’re right, but I’ll have to run through it myself.

I assume you have an Apple so this may not help since I’m not sure Camtasia runs on anything but windows. However, you can capture the screen directly to an uncompressed AVI file with Camtasia(it’s in the help section). Then perhaps putting it into AE with your other stuff and rendering it out uncompressed might work better.

I will say that your idea of dropping the screen to 800×600 works well for the Total training guys as their screen captures seem to be clear even on a big screen TV. I assume you are recording some type of tutorial.
Let us know how this comes out, please.

2.0 Adobe Prem. on Dell 2.8 Ghz and 3 GB of Ram, 500 Hard Drive have a 7Nvida Geforce 7300, thinking of upgrading to 512?

Do you really only have one hard drive? If so, you might get better performance with two drives, one for the system and programs, and the second to put your capture clips on (sorry, but you probably knew that). I was just thinking of any possibility, that might help.

Did it work ok when you “previewed from here” and did you set the menu as “first play”?

In my opinion, the only way to learn these types of software is with Total Training (and I have no financial interest here). Unless the conferences supply DVD’s of the instructors so you can watch them over and over again, particularly when you need to look something up, in my opinion, the conferences are a waste of time and money.
If you just want to see what’s new in the field, I suppose they are OK.

Thanks. That sounds like the button transition feature of 2.0 so I guess that one really can’t effect the actual length of the activated state.
    Thanks for replying.

This might help. I think Dave has the Camtasia website link on his website and if you go to Camtasia, you can download a free Camtasia player or a codec from Techsmith which would allow you to view them. Camtasia 3 makes the compressed WMA files with a Windows 9 codec (at least according to the instructions in the program that’s what it is) so that might be the problem.
It is worth it to check out the tutorials though.
