  • Background motion menu won’t run

Posted by Seanwinn on January 31, 2007 at 10:19 pm

Hi, just posted yesterday questions about inserting video in spots on top of a menu. I received the correction on that thought…THEN created a video that accomplished what I wanted to see and it played, looped fine in Encore….

BUT then I tried to add text in three places that I could convert to buttons and now the background video won’t run. I erased the text and it works again….can I get around this?

    Thanks for any help!

Did you try File > Render > Motion Menus?

Joe, thanks for your help, that did it. One thing though…the text I put in & converted to buttons is not showing any highlight color when I mouse over them in preview…is there a way to get that back?

Select the button, then choose Object > Create Subpicture.

Hey again, tried that on each of the buttons to no avail…they remain unchanged. I figure it has something to do with the fact that they are text converted to buttons over the top of a motion video background.

There is s slight black shadow type affect that appears when you mouse over them, but no color hightlight. So as is, they are kind’ve hard to read…thoughts?
PS – really appreciate your help

Joe, somehow I got it. Deleted the buttons in Photoshop, recreated the whole process…and I have the normal orange flesh colored mouse over highlight. So it’s working.
(now if I can figure out how to successfully change that mouseover color 😉

thanks again so much for your help

Click on the menu and then go up to MENU on the toolbar at the top, and then select “EDIT MENU COLOUR SET” and change the COLOUR SET from automatic to MENU DEFAULT and then change the colours of the highlighted and activated state in the HIGHLIGHT GROUP 1, Then adjust the opacity of each form there also..
