How about this. Capture a clip at 29.97. Open the clip in a 23.98 project. Avid should put a motion adapter on in the timeline. If its not properly removing the pulldown open the Motion Effect Editor and promote it (if necessary) then see if there are controls to change the pulldown cadence.

I seem to remember doing this a long time ago. The pulldown controls magically appear in the capture tool when you have the deck connected via FireWire and you are In a 23.98 project. It may even need to be a Film project, as the Film and 24p Settings only appear in your Settings when in a film project…but try a regular project first.
advanced pulldown is not something I normally deal with. sorry of my memory is faulty on this. It’s easy enough to check though. If you don’t own Avid already, just download the trial. It’s fully functional.

If your audio output it set to direct out and center panned everything will be louder

Transcoding automatically duplicates the sequence.

“So, I finally managed how to author a simple blu-ray disc from Compressor. But, for some reason I cannot figure out how to burn the Blu-Ray disc from video/audio that is already encoded… It seems it needs to do the whole thing in one go; start the encoding in compressor, and then from the Inspector window / Job Action Tab, I should choose “create Blu Ray Disc, when encoding is done…”
It’s a one shot thing. You need Toast or Encore to author any other way.

AMA no longer uses yellow (which I am happy about,as in my color scheme, it made the info hard to read.

If the subclips are all from the clips I mentioned, all your footage needs to be transcoded.
AMA has a new icon, which I guess is meant to indicate linked. Regular master clip icons look different.

The shining clip, the citizen Kane clips and the one at the bottom of Goodfellas are AMA clips.
