you are correct, I meant just repeatedly puching the record button. Video quality (within certain limits of course) is really not that important in this case. As long as you can read the number, you are in good shape. Ease of use, a good optical zoom, image stabilization, and the ability to get the clips into vegas quickly are the major things.. Scene detection just adds another step to whole thing.
