Importing clips from a camcorder
I am a novice Vegas 7 user and would like to buy a really cheap camcorder for use in youth football games.
My only requirement (other than the forementioned cheap:) is that I can import the video into Vegas and that it recognize each time I press the reocrd/pause button, and it automatically create a new clip when I import the video. I think this rules out DV, since I would have to rely on “scene detection” software which I have found to be a pain, and an extra step.
I know that Vegas supports importing from Sony DVD camcorders, and I think that will do the trick, however, I was wondering if there are other options…
Are DVD camcorders from vendors other than sony able to import automatically into separate clips?
Would an HDD camcorder allow me to do this?
Any recommendations in the under $500.00 category?
Essentially, when recording, the camera operator pushes record when the play starts, then pause when the play ends, for the whole game, and then we import into vegas. We want each play to be a separate clip that can be added and tagged in the media library.
Thanks for your help/advice!
