I have been selecting the title in the timeline and resizing for example but it’s still affecting the clip it’s attached to. I found one other person on an Apple forum with the same problem but no-one seemed to understand his issue.
Thanks.

Many thanks Shane. I’ll update to the latest Quicktime then.
There are no problems viewing footage ingested with earlier versions of QT are there once you’ve updated?
Thanks

Thanks for that but the white reconnect window will only let me search the exact same file I am working on despite trying to re-direct it to my original project.

I’ve got a similar problem.
I HAVE A PROJECT CONSISTING OF AROUND 25 SHORT MULTI CAMERA MUSIC SEQUENCES THAT I’VE EDITED OFFLINE ON MY POWERBOOK G4(10.4.9)(FCP 5.0.4) AND I NOW WANT TO RECONNECT TO THE FILES I CAPTURED IN FULL RESOLUTION. ALL FILES ARE ON THE SAME LACIE 300 GB DRIVE. I AM NOW WORKING ON MY NEW MAC PRO(10.4.9/FCS 2).
WHAT SEEMS TO BE HAPPENING IS WHEN I TRY TO RECONNECT, I AM ONLY ABLE TO SEARCH THE SAME FILES THAT I AM ALREADY USING SO RECONNECTING TO THE FOOTAGE THAT IS ALREADY THERE. I’M CLOSE TO DEADLINE ON THIS SO I’M GETTING A LITTLE ANXIOUS. THE FULL RES PROJECT IS IN A FCP DOCUMENTS FOLDER ON THE EXTERNAL (MAC OS EXTENDED) HD AND IS FULLY VIEWABLE.
THE FINISHED PROJECT IS NOW AFFILIATED TO FCP6 AND THE FULL RES PROJECT IS FCP5. MAYBE THIS IS A PROBLEM TOO.
CAN ANYONE HELP PLEASE?
Apologies for the Caps – I’m pasting from another forum. It’s been a long frustrating day.

March 26, 2007 at 10:16 pm in reply to: fcp 5 offline editing requires rendering in the timeline?!Thank you both very much for your help. It took quite a few attempts but I did get it to work. The confusion came when I had to choose a 4:3 setting when the footage is 16:9 but it works.
The only anomaly is the rendered sequence I had edited upto the point where I changed the settings is formatted differently – it’s zoomed in on the 16:9 image. It’s only a short piece though which wouldn’t be too much hassle to re-do.
Thanks again

January 24, 2007 at 8:08 pm in reply to: Providing Pro Tools Compatible Audio from 3 Camera Concert ShootI am directing it and tieing it all together. Yes I have a soundman and our latest thoughts are to record the audio to ADAT and then transfer the files to Pro Tools. Are you a soundman? What do you think of this proposal?
Many thanks
