This could be due to a “corrupt timeline” which happened in Final Cut Pro 7 and other programs. Basically the timeline is broken.

If you get a black screen in the viewer in Adobe Premiere Pro CC, check your playback mode first, and make sure it says composite mode and fully enabled. Also check your video tracks to make sure they are not disabled.

If this doesn’t fix it, create a new blank timeline. Then, copy and paste all the clips from your old timeline into the new one, and this should fix it.

If this doesn’t work, try making your clips offline, and then reconnecting them to refresh the media library.

If none of these work, quit, and restart and see if this fixes the problem.

Click in your timeline, and click Command 0 (zero) to open up your setting, than go to quick time settings at bottom left, and click on the “advanced” button, once in there go to “gamma correction” and un-click automatic and change it to “none” this seems to have gotten rid of the flicker for me! Let me know if this works for you.

Can’t you just use KONA hardware to output to an MPEG or do you have to dump to tape and recapture? That seems excessive and prone to minute flaws…

Thanks much! I have never seen apple animation codecs used as a master video output either, especially with camera footage mixed with graphics. I’m a heavy After Effects guy and I know it’s default “lossless” output is usually animation. By the way, out of curiosity, do you know why inspector is showing these videos with a 7.69 FPS and not the 23.97?

It’s a com. spot for a client out here. A specific delivery spec, it calls for “IRE” standards. I’ve mostly dealt with broadcast safe mode, not the scopes in FCP, or measuring IRE.

DO you know of a feature (or third party software) to help monitor IRE standards?

This doesn’t direct you to the answer, you actually want to use the “Collect Files” function under the file menu.
