Might you have a short clip of avchd that I can download and try. I want to make sure it is not operator error.

It sounds like their first instinct is to blow us all off.

Since I am a PC user, using Vegas, they cannot blow me off as quickly.

PC based software utility came with the camera. The tech confirmed, and you can too, that the time code is indeed on the clip in the camera.

However, when I, and the tech, used the very software bundled with the camera to bring the clips from the camera to the pc. The timecode did not come along.

As of this momemnt, the tech has been reaching out to the product guys with this information. As of right now, he said the product guys have not confirmed their duplication of the problem.

My guess is that the will get their pc software ulitity to work first, then tell Vegas software and Apple what they need to know.

So, it is important to push without mentioning vegas or apple, just the pc unility and say that isn’t bringing the clips across.

I would like us to focus our efforts at the right place, so I will reitterate.

This is a sony camera issue. Not fcp.

It doesn’t work with Vegas either and the sony tech support guy confirmed the time code doesn’t make it to the pc even with the software included with the camera.

I agree, keep after sony camera for now until even that works, then go after apple.

The Sony tech support person Seth, in New Jersey has reported back to me that he has duplicated the problem, and is working the the product group to solve it.

I will keep you posted as he keeps me posted.

He confirms the timecode is in the camera clip, but when it is transferred to a computer, the timecode doesn’t come.

He tried FCP, Vegas pro, and the utility software that came with the camera.

I am in the same situation.

I just bought two NX5’s to replace my pd170s also and have the same problem.

I cannot get the free run timecodes to come into the vegas 9.0C in order to lay out the multicam tracks by timecode.

January 12, 2010 at 3:10 pm in reply to: Auto check burn with architect 5.0?

    Thanks John,

Thanks for confirming that there is not something I missed in architect.

I am using Taiyo for single layer disks too.

And I rarely get bad burns either.

But recently I have been doing a lot of other things at the same time while burning, ( business comes in feast or famine) and had several bad burns that I had no warning of. It is a lot of customer service time when the customer gets the bad burn.

Thanks for the idea about the iso file

Since the EX3 was announced a few months after the EX1, it is possible that a EX3R with improvements might be announced in a few months.

Has anyone heard any rumors to that affect
