How can it make 2 D into 3 D?
Do you mean that you can shoot two side by side cameras and then sync them up and the software converts them into a 3 D image?

Buy the Sennheiser EW112. You will love it too.
That is what I use and it works great. The sennheiser comes with two types of connectors that you can swap out. One for connecting to an xlr and one for connecting to an 1/8 inch jack.
Pro cameras all use xlr because they are more rugged and versatile. DJ sound systems and hotel sound systems are all xlr, so you can more easily connect to them.

I have a suggestion,
How about if all of us on this thread submit an incident to Sony asking about network rendering on 10 and what is their intended replacement. Maybe when they see a volume of comments it will get on their list.

Reading the literature, it says the slomo degrades with the length of time you select it to run for.
My guess is that it isn’t really slomo like the Sony XDCam Family. It seems to simply save less pixels per frame in order to get more frames per second. Kind of a poor man’s slomo for teaching your kid how to golf or something.

You can use the usb cable from the camera to your pc.
Just connect the wire. Then the memory cards show up on your pc. You can either copy the files over to your pc, or use the sony software utility to import them. The advantage of the cmu as it is called, is to reconnect segments that were split due only to the file size limit.

My hope is for the GPU accelerator to start working better than the folks here have described like 1% improvement. Perhaps there is still a bug in it.

It won’t work with two peer computers like it did in the olden version 9 days where you could share loads with peer computers.
Windows server 2008 is an operating system (around $900) versus windows xp or windows 7 or windows vista.
The windows server operating system comes with the concept of client-server architecture. You put the application (vegas 10) on the server. Then you tell it to serve that application to computers you approve. The server then creates a small installation file.
You put the installation file on your client PC, and then just like loading an application on the client PC, you load this installation file. Then you have an item in the start menu that is remote vegas.
You click on it and it looks like it is starting vegas on your machine, but really starting it on the server machine and preseting the screen to you.
Typically client-server set ups like this are used in big companies and cost tens of thousands of dollars.
For smaller guys like us, you have to look into buying a hardware server from dell or HP, with windows server 2008 operating system (About $7000). Then set up the server and then install vegas. Unless you are pretty technical you will want to ask an IT person for help.

Thank you Mike and David for the Neoscene 5.2 beta.
It does indeed work with vegas 10.
However, the Neoscene seems to reset the beginning timecodes on the clips to zero on the avchd files that I get from Sony NXCAM.
I have waited for 6 months for Vegas 10, so that I automatically sync multicam shoots using the layout tracks by timecode feature of Vegas. And I can, if I use the AVCHD clips as they are.
But if I convert them first using the cineform codec in Neoscene so render times are reasonable, the timecodes all start at zero, therefore meaning the vegas layout tracks by timecode won’t work.
David, Is there something I am doing wrong? Or is it something you could change before the 5.2 beta is released?
