One thing that will happen when you “fill left with right” is you are no longer listening in stereo – you’ve duplicated the right channel and lost the left. Your video has fairly wide stereo imaging, so maybe this would be undesirable.
One solution might be to take your finished audio into Audition to reverse the phase polarity. I’m not an audio expert, but one way to do this is add your audio clip to a multitrack session and click the Phase Polarity button on the left of the track, then export the whole session. Here’s what the button looks like:

Audio experts, please correct me if I’m wrong.

Click the wrench icon at the bottom corner of the viewer and turn on Overlays. You can determine what’s displayed by entering Overlay Settings in the same pulldown.

Not sure how the license key process works, but it may be an inhibiting factor in installing CS6. Even if you have a valid license key, if that process reaches out to Adobe for validation, they may be able to detect that you’re trying to install a version they’ve de-authorized, and thus prevent the installation from continuing. Can’t hurt to try.

For this project, only 2017 will do. As far as your other question, I am giong to be looking in to Davinci Resolve for future projects.
Whatever works. But what’s the difference between upgrading to the latest Premiere Pro and installing something you have less experience with? You’ll have a learning curve to overcome anyway, and you may find that Resolve – while getting better with each version – still has its faults and quirks to work around. I also understand that speedy performance in Resolve is closely linked to your computer’s GPU, so if you don’t have a zippy GPU, you may find yourself frustrated.
Don’t get me wrong – Resolve looks great. There’s no better tool for color grading, and Fusion is an amazing tool (very different than After Effects). Just go into that kind of change with your head up.

Robert, only 2019 and 2018 are available. Nothing prior to 2018 is available, due to a licensing issue from (conventional wisdom says) Dolby. The last version of each is probably the most stable, though people seem to attribute local problems to the stability of the software in general. But by this time in the version cycle, most stability bugs have been addressed.

Track targeting, perhaps? If her source track isn’t active, nothing will go to the clipboard. If the target track isn’t active, nothing will go there (though it would go to whatever track is active).
BTW have you ever tried working with a pancake timeline workflow?

July 29, 2019 at 3:53 pm in reply to: how disable the beginning/ending signs of a shot in the viewer?Click the wrench icon below the viewer, and look for Overlays. To turn off all overlays, uncheck that item in the menu. If you’re using other overlays and just want to lose the end-of-media indicators, open Overlay Settings and uncheck that box.

The final version of CS6 shipped in 2012, while XAVC-S wasn’t introduced until 2013. You may have a hard time with those native files in CS-6.

I think you’ll find the ProRes Proxy files work much more smoothly than the h.264 files, too. If you have disk space (and as cheap as storage is, why don’t you), ProRes Proxy is a great choice.
