    Thanks for the advice man.

At the studio a couple years ago, we were told that H264 is the go to. Has there been a recent shift among professionals away from H264? And if so, is the one you suggested the new preference?

    Thanks

I am editing off of the external hard drive. Does anyone think that might have something to do with it?

    Bill,

Would any pair of high quality headphones work in this case? My friends record music a lot and I bet they could lend me a pair. Is there anything about these headphones that is necessary to what I’m trying to do?

I didn’t even know that these things can be rented. Do you know of any national chains that rent? I’m from the Twin Cities in Minnesota and wonder what kind of places rent out.

Thanks so much for your response, and I’m glad you were direct with me.

  • Hey guys,

I’m learning that Plural Eyes can’t really handle MTS files. I used MPEG stream clip and converted my MTS files to quicktime. Then, from within Plural eyes, I started a new sync and had success. THe drawback is that if you have MTS files, it is probably because they are very long in duration. When streamclip converts them to quicktime they become huge! I had a 4 GB MTS file that turned into a 45GB quicktime. Pluraleyes can work with them, but now my hard drive is just about out of space.

If you are in a bind, however, this should work. Download the stream clip application if you don’t have it, it is free and really useful. Adobe Media Encoder should be able to do batch conversions as well.

  • I’m having the same issue. Do you guys think that PluralEyes can simply become overwhelmed by too much footage? I have three different cameras for a shoot we did of a 3-4 hour conference.
