#1 – Cross Platform
#2 – See #1
#3 – Like John said, if no cross platform, let me use industry standard media in Vegas. The workflow I have to use now to produce a network TV show (6 seasons now) is ridiculous. I’d love be able to do the whole show in Vegas instead of rendering, then into Adobe PP to finish. PLEASE!!! -
Thanks Norman! I’m going to try to post a video of the workflow and whats happening.

You’re absolutely right… They have amazing support! In this day and age it’s really comforting to know you can pick up the phone, call the actual manufacturer, the actually answer AND even help you for…. wait for it……. NO CHARGE!!! Sony are you listening??? -
You shouldn’t have any issues. Vegas will prompt you to search for any missing pieces and will find them very easily.

June 25, 2014 at 7:15 am in reply to: best usb3 external for laptop and vegas 12 or 13I’m currently using the GTech G-Drive Thunderbolt/USB3.0. Working flawlessly and I’m using it for video as well. Playing HUGE files (100-150 GB each clip). You may be confused as far as Thunderbolt, but I’m running V13 via Bootcamp on the newest MacPro. Suuuuuuuper happy with this config. Just would love to see Sony finally take it native.

If you’d ever like to take a closer look let me know… we could always do a teamviewer session.

From what I understand, I don’t think it takes advantage of both, but I could be wrong. For me, I’m using HUGE ProRes files (about 50GB) each and i can’t get Vegas to blink using Best/Full preview. scrubbing on the timeline is flawless, render times are great and I can practically put this thing in my pocket PLUS I can use it for all my music apps like Logic/ProTools and such. Super happy. Just need Sony to wake up and smell the coffee. I have 10 people that would convert on the spot but refuse to run Windows.

Hi Debbie!!
If you use the Parametric EQ, there is a “phone line effect” preset and it’s OK. If you have Waves plug ins, the Q10 eq has a much better preset “Telephone”.Let me know if I can help in any way!

Hey guys…
Just wanted to jump in since I picked up my new Mac Pro a few weeks back. First, installing 8.1 via bootcamp went without a hitch. I’ve installed bootcamp on numerous systems and had little glitches along the way. This was BY FAR the most trouble free install yet. Second, W81 isn’t all that different from 7… Right click on the windows (start) icon and it’s pretty much like the old days. I’m actually liking a few of the new features! Third, Vegas 13 has been pretty rock solid for me. John, you helped me with some rendering issues that I needed for AXS, this machine is KILLING IT!! I chose the 6 core model and bumped up to 32 gigs of ram. I stuck with the 256 SSD, and am using G Tech thunderbolt drives. Everything is working super smooth for me. I’d hate to see what would happen if Sony took this native. -
Ohhhh, and I almost forgot, all my instances of Vegas are running on Boot Camp…. Mac Pro, Mac Mini, iMac, Macbook Pro
