Bob, thanks for the response. The CPU could be the culprit and I am looking into an upgrade. It’s an Intel Core 2 6300 @1.86 GHz. 3.2 GB usable RAM Win 7-32 bit os.
I’m sorry I was not more clear in my post. I never really run 3 or 4 files simultaneously in my daily routine however to find the problem that was my test. To be clear I never have problem until Window Media Player is introduced.
I might be running one small .wav file in vegas (or Sound Forge) and accidentally open the smallest of wavs through WMP and the problem occurs.
It appears that as soon as WMP is opened it wants to change the system bit or sample rates and that really screws with my system. It actually knocks Sony’s audio setting offline until I close WMP and reset the Sony Audio preference tab.
For now I can avoid problems and keep the peace by staying well clear WMP while running any program. However it would be nice to solve the issue.
