No spam intended. My comment? Panasonic GH2 users on another forum received a recent “reply” from the makers of this recorder that they “were making it compatible with the GH2”. Significant? Yes, if they actually make it happen and the unit is solid.

I have been adding, depending on the footage, the default setting for unsharp mask, in either Premier or Vegas via FX since their early versions. It is that little extra that can make a difference in the final render. But before adding it to you entire project, test it on one of your clips and play it out to your “god monitor”. Too much will end up looking cartoonish!

Control + K on PC makes the cut on the tracks that are highlighted if this helps any.

The Panasonic GH2, which will be available later this month, has a clean HDMI out. Great reviews on this unit – see Philip Bloom’s link.

Tim, that was an excellent post re.HD cameras. More videographers should read it. Thanks for the input.

Jan, off topic but can’t help it (Holiday Spirit!). Bought a “very used” 1948 Indian while in high school (late 60’s)from a salvage yard. Fixed blown head gasket, rode the old hand-shift beast to school, parked next to the smart-ass kid’s moped and smiled!
Rode the snarly old flathead v-twin until college! Wish it was in my garage. Oh well, back to CS5 and my current project!

Do you monitor the output level of your wireless transmitter and the input level of your wireless receiver via headphones? Did you accidentally change the record levels of your Zoom? I know these are obvious details, but…

And I am the other lone voice crying out – two hacked Gh1s and a GH2 on the way!

I shoot with (2)Panasonic GH1 units with hacked software. These cameras are far more video friendly than the Canons, and the GH2 is even better. No overheating, no record-time limits, the ability to adapt a multitude of prime lenses, articulating viewfinder, etc. I hope to have my GH2 before Christmas!

Pete, any definitive word on full HDMI out of the GH2? Have been hoping that Tester 13 would finally come up with a hack solution for the GH1, but nothing so far.
