The student FCP didn’t have the proper codec to capture 720p24 footage so I had to borrow the school’s updated version until I was willing to drop 1200 bucks for FCP Studio. So expensive for a poor student but, oh well. 😉

No I have the student FCP but I’m just going to buy FCP Studio since it comes with DVDSP and a lot of other goodies that I want.

Hi George,
I double-checked everything per your instructions and re-read the manual carefully but it still won’t record. It appears to be receiving something because when I do print-to-video and push play/still on the camera it starts recording automatically but no picture or sound comes up. Just a blank blue screen. I don’t think there’s anythign wrong with the camera or computer as I’ve had zero difficultly in capturing footage onto my computer. Any ideas?

Could you recommend a mini-DV player that would be compatible with Sony mini-DV HD tapes with 720p24 footage on them?
