I agree FCPX’s Keyer is exceptional. It’s ability to adjust the key in different areas of the frame without having to add more instances of the keyer is terrific. And it works the same way with edges. You can affect different edges in the one instance of the Keyer.

The key to achieving a one pass green screen key is lighting the bkg properly. Otherwise, you need to apply the keyer multiple times. Motion has an excellent keyer, particularly, the newer versions, but Keylight & PHYX are excellent, too.

It’s possible your converter added pulldown so you have 24 within 29.97 which would retain the film look. This is always done on a DVD which only accepts 29.97 video. Have you tried networking the 2 computers so you can exchange files that way?

There might be mechanical damage in the mic caused by rough handling or dropping. I’ve seen that happen.

Shooting against a green screen would allow you to place your talent in front of any scene you like. The key to doing this believably is matching the light on your talent to the light in the background scene. If you search the COW for “green screen” you’ll learn many approaches to shooting this way.

I’d add that if you’re recording long programs, the just timecode won’t sync audio & video for long. The sync will drift. What’s usually used is a master clock that generates both word sync (which the SD can use) and video reference (for the camera). However, none of the Blackmagic cameras have a genlock input, so that’s not possible. If you’re shooting short scenes, then no problem. Otherwise, you’ll have to adjust sync in post by cutting the audio when you lose sync and slipping it back into sync.

If you have 10.0.x, you should be able to download (probably upgrade) to 10.0.9 if 10.0.x is on the drive. As for copying files from one computer to another, Google an article (it may be on Apple’s site) on manually deleting FCPX. It lists all the files and locations where FCPX lives.

Channels may be 180 degrees out of phase. When both channels are played back mono, the hum would be cancelled out.

Why not simply download again from the App Store? Once you purchase FCPX you can download again. Go to the App Store and choose the Purchased tab. You should see FCPX. Hit the Download button.
