The Shotput P2 makes byte-to-byte verified copies. We’ve been using P2 Genie, but I believe that’s no longer supported. I just got Shotput P2, but haven’t used it yet. For backup, we use a G-Tech RAID 1 and every evening we back that up to another drive which later becomes the show archive. While traveling, the drives are caried by different people in different cases.

That’s a good idea, Jean-Louis. I’ll see what happens with just one monitor. I also just found this on the FX Factory forum:

“Open your Sequence Settings window
Switch to the Video Processing tab
Select the “Render in 8-bit YUV” option”

I’m not sure if I had this selected in Settings, but if not, I’ll will try this tomorrow as well.

I have a new MacPro with two 2.8GHz Quad-Cores, 8G RAM, current FCS2, one ATI Radeon HD 2600 XT running 2 Cinema 23s and most FXplug-ins don’t render. Has anyone found a solution?

A lot depends on what you need the monitor to do. For critical monitoring by our video engineer we use the Panny BTLH1700W. However, for client and director monitors we use less expensive 8″ V-LCD8Pro Marshall SD LCDs (the HD is downconverted in the camera).

Sounds like it could be a fields issue. You don’t see the jitter until there’s motion in the picture. Try switching or swapping fields and see what happens.
