The challenge with iZotope will be to identify the beep in its visual display since it’s very soft. However, it would appear as a fairly straight line at its frequency. Here’s a page at izotope.com that shows a number of ways it can be used yo remove unwanted sounds. However, as the beep seems to be a particular frequency and not very loud, you might be able to use a parametric equalizer to remove most if not all of it – without hurting the dialogue. Apply a parametric eq to the clip. Then, adjust the Q to a narrow range and boost the gain a lot. Then, play the clip and sweep the frequency control until the sound of the beep is at its loudest. Then, further adjust the Q and frequency settings to maximize the beep. Finally, turn down the gain until the beep is greatly reduced or eliminated. The narrower the Q the better, as a narrow Q would least impact the dialogue.

I couldn’t download either of the clips. From your description I think iZotope RX 4 Advanced (maybe even regular old RX4) would be able to remove the beeps. It’s fairly straight-forward. But it’s a manual selection for every beep, so a bit time consuming.

IMHO, definitely convert it to 29.97 outside of FCPX. Compressor will do that nicely. Be sure to turn on Frame Controls and select the highest quality for rate conversion.

My sense of this is, after shooting in the same fps, do your matching in post. Direction of light is important if the drone footage is of the same subject as the BMCC. I don’t think achieving a good match is impossible. IMHO, viewers will accept aerial footage cut with ground-based footage as long as you balance the gain, setup, color, etc. You can certainly get very close using DaVinci Resolve.

I thought you said something about h.264, but I couldn’t find it. Anyway, my workflow is to always export a ProRes master file and use that in Compressor. Any inter-frame codec can be trouble as a master.

I suspect the H.264 master file might be the problem. Try exporting a ProRes master, use that in Compressor and see what happens.
