Is it possible the squelch settings in the lav units are different from those in the boom unit?

I’m agree you have to do the syncing inside your NLE. I use RX5 standalone, within Pro Tools and even directly inside FCPX. But always sync the new RX-ed audio with the video in the timeline. Richard’s point is a good one. You don’t want to lose access to your cut original audio.

I, too, am very happy with Color Finale. While it doesn’t have the breadth of Resolve’s capabilities, it now adds tracking using Core Melt’s SliceX (which uses Mocha tracking). It’s great having all this capability inside FCPX.

I agree with Richard. Another app to explore is iZotope RX. It will De-clip as well as De-verb, although, De-verb won’t do miraculous restorations. In my experience it can “help” with controlling room boxiness, but rarely eliminate it. You can get a trial version here.

It’s a terrific app. I’ve used it since it was just called RX. Last week there was an annoying clunk under a VO and I easily disappeared it with RX5. As mentioned it’s a specialty tool, although, there are a number of functions like automatic dialog de-noise that might be used in some cases on complete tracks. If you need to “operate” on your audio, it’s an invaluable tool.

I still use DVDSP where you’d use your 29.97 mv2 and ac3 to create the track on the DVD. DVDSP works in Mavericks. I haven’t tried it in Yosemite.

I had a similar problem, but after running DiskWarrior it cleared up. DW fixes the directory so whenever something can’t be found it’s my first resort.
