    ANY interlaced monitor(CRT,which the viewfinder is) will show strobing when your camera is in ANY progressive mode. Switch to 60i, and it will be gone. But, you probably want to shoot P. So live with it.

    That’s why for spots,etc on broadcast TV, you should shoot in interlace mode. Alot of people still have CRT monitors. I’m talking about video cameras, NOT film cameras.

    I have 5 monitors. One is a HD CRT Panasonic monitor, used for color correction. Beats any LCD,etc. But,will show strobing when editing Progressive.

    Even in my bedroom CRT TV, I’ll sometimes see terrible strobing on local spots. Yep, they shot P with their video cams. I have shot film. Even cranked to 30fps for TV. Gee, must look like video

    This will all be mute in a few years, as CRT’s are phased out.
