I recently had to do this to for a license plate in my shot. Since the camera was moving, I had to motion track the plate, apply the track to a null object and parent that to an adjustment layer with a mosaic effect. Worked very nicley. But I’m not sure if you could even add a 100 motion tracks to a 100 nulls to 100 adjustmet layers – would seem impossible even to consider.

I was looking for that exact solution. I needed the adjustment layer to affect only the layer beneath it (for hue color changes) and that worked perfectly – just pre-compose the adjustment layer along with the layer you need “adjusted” and it will work anywhere in the layer stack without affecting anything else.

    John:

    I am a complete idiot.

Thanks so much. I knew I didn’t lay out over $900 just for After Effects – there is a whole productions suite in my Adobe Production Suite CS5.5! I just needed to open my eyes. And yes – really – I am that stupid. Thanks for leading the blind man.

I’ve never used Encore before – but I googled it – and found a simple tutorial. I precomped the AE file – went into Encore – did a dynamic link to my comp file – and Encore is transcoding and creating my DVD as we speak (should I be typing as Encore is transcoding?)

Pretty cool – thank you for the quick reply.

Oh – and AE created a 30GB AVI file for my 2 minute, 45 second movie. Not much I could do with it but stare at the file size in amazement.

    Thanks again!

    Butch:

Thanks a lot. I went into my Realtek interface and chose 44.1khz. I didn’t have the same option with the Out to Optical in the Realtek interface – but I did uncheck the optical in AE – and bam – it works. Thanks for putting me on the right track.
