  • You know what….I’m going to do it. I’ve resisted because Vimeo is a little squirrely in my experience, but for $200/yr I guess I could do worse. Maybe they put a priority download on the pro stuff.

  • Very interesting. I’ll keep my eye on basecamp. I think for my needs it may be slightly overkill, but perhaps my needs will change.

I like the simplicity of dropbox (and we use it often!) but we need password protection and things like that.

    Thanks guys!

  • Does it work with iOS devices? It looks interesting, but my clients are usually traveling and on iPhones or iPads, so flash would be a deal killer.

  • Oh, just remembered why I avoid column view. It doesn’t allow for quick sorting when you’re in a folder. Sometimes I want to see a folder by date or alphabetically. That’s kind of a pain when in column view.
And you’re welcome on the Snap suggestion. Love that thing.

Did you boot into safe mode? Hold down C when starting up?

  • Column view comes in a standard size like that – perhaps you should consider using a different view if that one isn’t working for you (I prefer list, although without enough coffee today I can’t give you the logic behind it).

Get “Better Snap Tool” if you want to keep windows in the same space and auto resize them, etc. I’m assuming you’re not on lion, because spaces does something of the same thing, especially in expose mode.

    Hope that helped!

Congrats! Now you could do the same research for someone else for a fee!

BTW, I think we deserve to know what song you got :).

10.6.8 changed to the Core Animation graphics system, I think, which screwed up things for lots of people. What PCI cards do you have installed?

His need was really specific to rosetta though. Not sure if his solution would really be useful to you. I like Lion and wouldn’t want to go back to SL.

  • If it’s a brand new computer, there’s a solid chance SL won’t have drivers to run it. All our production machines are Lion, so I’d say try it first and then if you must you can try going backwards. I’d wait a week or two. See what happens with Apple next week. Lion’s getting an update soon, so it might be good enough for ya.

Bob Zelin had to downgrade a bunch of macs recently to SL, so I think it’s possible. I think it was in this forum a few posts down.
