Thanks Noah for getting back to me. Hopefully I can get the rest of the information from the client.

I’ll take the bullet. I have been waiting for them to release the Mac Pro for a long time. Heck with it…I’m buying a maxed out iMac and then they will release the new Mac Pro. Buyers remorse!

I have been able to turn off the names of cities using Google Earth Pro. Not sure if you can do this on the free version. The Pro version is $399 a year. The nice thing about the Pro version is you can export your camera moves to just about any format up to 1920×1080. Interface kind of difficult to work with.

  • I’m looking into switching to PPro from FCP7 as well. One question I have is, what are the best codecs to use when transcoding footage into PPro? Our work flow would most likely be a producer would use Prelude to do selects then an editor would import that project into PP. It is very important to our work flow to have all information in one project folder and not referencing a raw footage drive or other drives. I would rather do the file management up front.

    Thanks,

    John

Is there a way to put custom templates on a server where everyone can access it? Read from the same files. This would be great for the template work flow I use. Right now I copy the master templates to each computer.

I believe there is a way to do it in FCP7 and Motion 4.

    Hi Dennis,

One of the features in our work flow is custom templates. For the moment we are using FCP 7 with Motion templates that has an animation (buillt in AE) and a phone number and website. Once we build the master commercial we build out versions using Motion templates adding the lower third in FCP 7 and changing the phone number and website within FCP 7. Has a similar feature been added to Premiere or dynamic linking?

The work around in 5.5 I found was to have one layer for the animation and one layer for phone number built using Premiere’s graphic program. Not exactly the best work flow but it could work.

    Thank you for your time,

    John

Thanks Jeremy for you input. With all the different formats available it can get quite frustrating. I’m learning you can’t please everyone. Work with the format that is best for you.

My thought as well. Just wondering if this is a trend or just another format to deal with.
