I don’t know of any tutorials, the effect is very basic. Controls for volume and panning, both that can be keyframed. AE, really isn’t much for audio, just a few basic effects.

If it isn’t too complicated, the audio window(cntl + 4, not keyframable, controls overall volume of a layer) and the “stereo mixer” will handle the basics, after that you need audition and a sound guy(least I do).

Do you want everything to overlap? If not you can just trim the layers of audio with “alt + ]” to trim the tai or “alt + [” to trim the head.

You could also use the Audio > Stereo Mixer effect, set a couple of keyframes and cross dissolve the audio.

Most likely your keyframes are set to one of the bezier types. Simple answer, click the position keyframes, right click on one of them and select “Keyframe Interpolation” and change your spatial keyframes to “linear”.

Open up your second project and use the “Import” the first project.

With everything there you can copy and paste what you need and when you are finished, you could delete the stuff you don’t need(Best way to do that is with the remove unused footage from the file menu).

Depends on your system. I never tried having them spell a word, but I have used 100 plus pictures to create a picture montage using particular. I have a pretty beefed up system just for AE, so it didn’t have much of a problem.

If you think things will be sluggish, you might adust the pictures before though. Create an action in photoshop and resize them all to 400 x 400 or so. If you are working in SD that should be big enough to accomplish what you need.

If you have access to trapcode particular you could create the text in a precomp and use that as a layer emmitter. Then all the photographs could be put in a precomp as custom particles.

Have you added 3d text presets or have you enabled the 3D box for the text? If you have done either you will need to precompose the text layer, so the camera doesn’t affect it.

Unless I’m missing something, all you need to do is adjust your first scoreboard – press “p”, click on the word position and hit “cntl+C”. Now just open your next comp click the scoreboard layer and hit “cntl+V”. You don’t even need to open up the position property.

It can be done. Trapcode makes a plugin called soundkeys that analyzes the audio spectrum and then allows you to select portions to convert to keyframes. The demo version only will do 300 keyframes per AE session, but you could open/close/open/close AE until you had an entire song if you were so inclined.

Also check the animation pulldown > Keyframe Assistant > Convert Audio to Keyframes. It’s not as good as soundkeys, but will create keyframes based on volume…that might be good enough to drive your animation.
