You don’t need a plugin to accomplish that. Split the layers, change each of the layers colors, move layers quickly and change the transfer mode to screen.

Could you possible use Card Dance to accomplish this? Otherwise you might want to look at the Matrix Script over at AEscipts.com. Matrix is a bit of render hog though.

Do you have have CS6? If you do, I would key the subject and turn the person into a 3D layer. Create a solid to use as the floor(enable 3D) and press AA and change “Accepts Shawdows” to only. Add a light to cast your shadow.
Lastly composite the Shadow Catcher and your person with the cartoon footage and you should have a shadow on your cartoon floor.

Which version of AE are you using? I would probably skip AE’s regular tracker and use mocha for that. You might have to tweak the last few frames, but it’s a planar track and mocha’s great at doing those.

A few years ago i discovered After Effects and I’ve always really liked the idea of improving my knowledge on it. But every time i get into it I’ll get stuck on a certain something or I won’t know exactly what I want to do.
I think the best approach is to learn the basics. To truly understand this program, you need a very solid foundation. The way to create complex animations is by knowing and understanding each little step that needs to be taken to create an impressive end result.
The step-by-step learning might be boring, but when you are finished it makes understanding and doing More complicated tutorials a lot easier.

First check in your AE project that you have a transparent background by toggling the checkerboard switch in the comp window. If you get the checkerboard pattern, then the problem must lie with your render, if you don’t see the checkerboard, then you have a layer in your project that needs to be removed.
The next thing to check is that when you rendered your movie you set the output module -> Video Output -> Channels to RGB + Alpha.

Go to the frame where you roto’d your still and precompose(Shift+cntl+c) it, make sure to select “Move all attributres into the new composition”.
Right click on the precomp and choose -> Time -> Freeze Frame. That should give you a roto’d image for your entire composition.

If your project isn’t quite as complicated as the Bourne credits, you could place a solid over your text layer, mask the area where the text will be visible and add a feather. Now on your text layer change it’s track matte to “Alpha”
You may need to create a solid mask/feather setup for each layer of text if different layers of text are moving off in different directions.
