when you start a new project, you want the sequence settings in FCE to match the settings of the clips you want to edit. If they’re different, it gives you the option to change, which you have.

For some reason, even though I do a log and transfer and can see the clips, they don’t import to FCE 🙁

I don’t like using handbrake/mpeg streamclip for the very reason that every conversion is lossy

Hey andy, not sure what you mean by JPEG… I use Final Cut Express to edit the footage, but because FCE doesn’t accept AVCHD Lite, I had to get the MTS files into something that FCE would import… Hence the Handbrake/MPEG Streamclip solution.

I was using a Hobie Kayak. They’re brilliant – foot powered and rudder control makes them deadly for fishing.

In the end, I used a clunky method of converting all my clips to MP4’s in Handbrake, then importing into MPEG Streamclip, exporting to MOV’s and then importing into FCE.

    The final product is https://www.vimeo.com/12014420

I also have a red exclamation mark when attempting to log and transfer from a FT1.

When I navigate to the camera folder containing the clips via “add custom path” dialogue I get the message “”STREAM” contains unsupported media or has an invalid directory structure. Please choose a folder whose directory structure matches supported media.”

Can someone maybe email me the AVCHD.RADPlug from iMovie 09 as I’m only running iMovie 08 (I have no need to upgrade)?????
