Actually I didn’t realize Premiere would show it. I have Creative Cloud so it was sitting in my Apps folder all along. Thanks guys. I’ve finally been able to confirm the captions and maybe now I can get some sleep.
Cheers

How have the Samsung drives been working for you. I’m thinking of getting either the 500GB 840 or the 512 840pro but haven’t found too many people talking about them with blackmagic products. Be it BMCC or hyperdeck.

Thanks for this Drew. Your on the same thought process as me. I had thought of the ac adapters too but wasn’t sure if that was a viable solution. With your info and some other info I got techs it looks like this is the best way to go. Now it’s time to start making cables.

The cables aren’t really in many peoples way. We don’t run them where the public is walking so I’m not concerned about that especially since I have to run cables either way. From what I’ve read it’s very do-able but i need some very large gauge cable. Just trying to figure out how thick.

Does anyone know of another solution to this? Is there another power supply I can be using? Or should I just suck it up and use batteries

They move around a bit and have cable pullers to insure that they don’t trip anyone. Either way they will need to stay wired for video and timecode purposes.
We have had them change batteries in opertune moments but since we rent the cameras and batteries every so often we’ll have a battery that goes from 100% to dead in 5 minutes which is always fun to deal with in post.
Since they have to remain wired for other reasons my thought is why not just run power up the cable with everything else and then there is never a worry about the battery dying.

I do already cable all the cameras back to one central location because I do a rough I’ve cut just for direction purposes so that is not an issue at all. I have been looking at the bm hyper shuttle which seems like a good idea but I was hoping for a all in one box

That’s what I figure I was just grasping at threads hoping I didn’t buy this for no reason.
Does anyone know of a switcher that can out put DV to a Macbook. All I need is SD for now.

Thanks for all your input guys.
I do really like the proavio but I found the 4tb Gspeed es pro bundled with the raid card for $1500. This gives me the ability to get what I need done now and when I need more space or speed I’m only one enclosure away. Letting stretch that cost out without missing out. I believe the card they bundle it with is an atto 630? Which from what I’ve read leaves this raid with pretty good performance at a good price point. At this point
IS there anyone that has had a bad experience with G-raid?

Thank you all for all of your info. If there is one thing that I learned from this is that I should stay away from highpoint. This would have been so easy if caldigit hadn’t stopped making the HDelement. It looks like it’s down to the proavio 800ms vs the G-raid Gspeed es pro. I’ve heard alot of good about the proavio but what about the g-raid. I’m not sure what to think about that one.
